Punjab School Education Board class 10 results announced


Mohali/Chandigarh: The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) on Tuesday declared the results of class X.
Amolpreet Kaur, a student of Anandpur Sahib's Bhai Nand Lal Public School, topped the state with 1254 marks out of 1300 (96.4 per cent).
The second spot in the merit list was bagged by Ambala Jattan's Gaganjot Kaur. A student of Government Senior Secondary School, Gaganjot secured 1241 marks (95.4 per cent).
Occupying the third rank in the state were Jindra's Ramandeep Kaur, a student of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Public School, and Samana's Chiranjali Joshi, a student of Dayanand Model School. Both girls secured 1239 marks (95.3 per cent).     
Of the 3,52,948 students who appeared for the class X boards, 2,27,009 passed.
However, PSEB officails said the 64.31 per cent result was a dip compared to other years.
This was because PSEB made it compulsory for students to clear Mathematics, Science and English to pass the exams, they said.
