Gangster movies in Bollywood, are quite popular as they come with a contoversial life sketches of underworld dons, whose private lives are a secret to us. Their personal life becomes easy fodder for audience as they are dark, morose, thrilling yet intriguing. Few ganster movies which really got famous and made the genre really popular are Satya, company, Vaastav, D, Once Upon a time in Mumbaai, Gangster, besides some others.
The sequel to ‘Once upon a Time in Mumbaai’, will see a complete new starcast, with Akshay playing the role of Dawood and Sonakshi as his love interest. As Akshay and Sonakshi are already doing two films together, their chemistry is said to be so good that Ekta Kapoor and Milan Luthria finalised them for the flick almost instantly.
The trailor of director Anurag Basu’s underworld drama ‘Gangster’ generated worldwide publicity as it was supposedly based on gangster Abu Salem’s life. Though the whole story was not based on ‘Abu Salem’s life but parallels were drawn between the two characters and the flick was widely appreciated. While Shiney Ahuja played the role of ‘Abu Salem’, Kangna played his love interest. Her reel life role had resemblance with Salem's once good friend, Monica Bedi.
Kangna Ranaut actually met Sona (wife of Haji Mastan) to prepare for her role in ‘Once Upon a time in Mumbaai’. While Ajay Devgn played the role of Haji Mastan, Kangna played actress Rehana who was supposedly Haji Mastan’s love interest. Also, in the same movie, Prachi Desai played Emraan Hashmi’s love interest whose character was supposedly based on Dawood Ibrahim.
Gangster movies not only deal with the psyche of the underworld dons in normal living conditions but, also add romance as an interesting backdrops.

Fight for Lokpal Bill: Anna Hazare to fast again from Aug 16
New Delhi: Gandhian activist Anna Hazare on Thursday said he will fast again from August 16 because the government had failed to keep its word on drafting a strong Lokpal bill to fight corruption.
"I stopped my fast at Jantar Mantar (here) because the government assured that our demands will be met. Now that the government is turning its back on the promise, I will fast again from August 16," Hazare told reporters.
The government and Anna Hazare-led civil society members are divided over the Lokpal Bill as both sides failed to reach a consensus on most of the issues at Wednesday’s meeting of the joint drafting committee. The seventh meeting of the 10-member panel of government and civil society representatives, which is drafting anti-corruption legislation, ended on a bitter note.
The joint drafting committee decided that both sides will prepare their own versions of the anti-graft legislation for consideration of the Cabinet.
Civil rights activist Arvind Kejriwal accused the government of dishonest intentions, while Prashant Bhushan said there were "too many fundamental differences between" them and the government.
Hazare to protest again
Anna Hazare on Thursday attacked the government for not being serious about ridding the country of corruption and threatened to agitate again if a strong Lokpal bill was not passed to check corruption in the country.
"A corruption-free India is not in the mind of the government. We will continue working for the society. So, no giving up," Hazare, 74, told reporters here.
"If they bring a wrong bill, there will certainly be agitation," he said. "We will have to start a Jantar Mantar-kind of agitation again. The government is moving away from its commitments."
Key points raised at Lokpal panel meet
The key demands raised at Wednesday's joint drafting committee meeting and the response of the government, according to civil society members:
Demands: Lokpal should have officers working at the district level so that a person who has made a complaint in a remote part of the country does not have to travel to Delhi.
Response: Government refused to accept that model and maintained that Lokpal will be an 11-member organisation but will have powers to receive public grievances from ordinary people.
Demands: Audio tapes of the proceedings so far should be given to civil society members.
Response: The government refused and said the demand could be considered after meetings were over.
Demand: According to an update sent by members of Anna Hazare's team, the government wanted to create "an emaciated and disempowered" institution and "it wants to kill Lokpal before it was born".
Response: The update said the government was hesitating in making the discussions public as people would come to know that "it had vetoed practically all points without having any valid arguments".
After a marathon meeting that lasted over two hours, Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal admitted that "there were areas of strong divergence of opinion" between the civil activists and the government.
"It is clear that there are strong areas of divergence. We have agreed to meet again June 20-21," Sibal, a member of the joint drafting panel, told reporters.
He said the government intended to get the civil society members' version on the issues of divergence and discuss these at the next meeting.
"If we think there is no consensus, we will forward the draft with both versions," he said.
Both Sibal and Kejriwal said there were no talks on keeping the prime minister under the Lokpal’s purview.
He, however, emphaisised that the draft Lokpal bill will be ready by June 30.
Kejriwal, one of the key members of Team Hazare, said there were many points of differences and the two sides had agreed on preparing two drafts.
"One draft will be prepared by us and the other draft will be prepared by the government ministers. The last meeting is June 20-21," he said.
"It seems that the government has already made up its mind on the matter. There is no discussion in the meeting and the government is just giving its decisions," he alleged.
"We said that how can 11 members take all the decisions? How will Lokpal be able to give decision if it is deluged with thousands of cases? It is certain that the government wants to kill the Lokpal before its birth."
He said unlike the present system where an officer charged with corruption faces two inquiries - by the department and by the Central Bureau of Investigation - there should be only one probe by Lokpal.
"The Lokpal should carry out the inquiry. The prosecution wing of the Lokpal should file the case in the court. But they did not agree to it," he said.
The civil society members had boycotted the June 6 meeting as a mark of protest against the police action on Baba Ramdev at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan. The previous meeting on May 30 was stormy with both sides opposing each other over including the prime minister, the judiciary, the conduct of MPs in Parliament and lower level bureaucrats in the Lokpal’s ambit.

Al-Zawahiri becomes new face of terror, succeeds Osama as Al-Qaeda chief
London: Al Qaeda has appointed Ayman al-Zawahiri as its new chief following the death of its founder Osama Bin Laden, BBC reported.
Bin Laden was killed by US special forces in Abbottabad, Pakistan May 2.
Al Qaeda's general command said in a statement Thursday that "Sheikh Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri, may God guide him, assumed responsibility as the group's amir (leader)".
The statement warned that Al Qaeda would continue to fight "the holy war against the US and Israel" under al-Zawahiri's direction.
The statement was disseminated by the al-Fajr Media Centre, Al Qaeda's media wing.
Egypt-born al-Zawahiri is believed by some experts to have been the "operational brains" behind the 9/11 attack on the US. He was bin Laden's deputy for many years.
Security experts say al-Zawahiri - thought to be in his late 50s - may be hiding in the Afghan-Pakistan border region.
Al-Zawahiri had just warned recently that bin Laden would continue to "terrify" the US from beyond the grave.
In a video message posted on the internet, he said: "The sheikh (bin Laden) has departed, may God have mercy on him, to his God as a martyr and we must continue on his path of jihad to expel the invaders from the land of Muslims and to purify it from injustice."
"Today, and thanks be to God, America is not facing an individual or a group, but a rebelling nation, which has awoken from its sleep in a jihadist renaissance," BBC quoted al-Zawahiri as saying in the video.
Al Qaeda was originally set up in Pakistan's Peshawar city in 1988, according to BBC. The terror outfit has allied groups in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Indonesia and Iraq, among other countries.
Hrithik Roshan Plans For KITES 2?
With back-to-back failure in KITES and GUZAARISH, Hrithik Roshan had purposefully taken a backseat, but it appears that once again the superhero is back to doing what he is best at, hogging the limelight and being the centre of attention of the media as well as the public. The reason behind this is of course his active participation in the promotion of his latest movie, Zoya Akhtar’s ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA, and his first dance reality show on television which seems to have generated a lot of hype, and of course not to forget his KRRISH 2 (where he reportedly essays a triple role), which is all set to go on the floors.
While talking to the press during the promotion of ZNMD, Hrithik revealed that he had spent a lot of time analyzing the failure of KITES and it has definitely matured him, and after a lot of deliberations and thinking he realized that KITES was ahead of it’s times. The superhero also made a startling declaration that somewhere down the years; say five to six years he would be game enough to try another film along the same lines, quite like KITES, because he was quite sure that the audience would be mature enough to accept such a film.
Well, that’s indeed quite a brave declaration from the superstar and teaches people to learn something positive from their failure and not to let it affect them in any wa
